Until its recent closing Dr. Levine was on the voluntary faculty at Saint Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan, where he contributed to the clinical and educational program for housestaff, geriatric fellows and medical students.  He is now associated with the Beth Israel Medical Center, First Avenue at 16th Street.

When patients are hospitalized, caregivers sometimes overlook changes in skin that accompany acute illness and chronic debility.  Early assessment and intervention can prevent pain and suffering and save millions in healthcare expenditures.  In his medical practice, Dr. Levine concentrates on healthy skin care of acute and chronically ill patients through early assessment, timely intervention, and proper nutritional support.  This includes:

1) Education of staff, patients, and families of techniques for pressure ulcer prevention and hygiene;

2) Provision of appropriate vitamins, protein and calories;

3) Early diagnosis of incontinence dermatitis, fungal infection, pressure ulcers, and skin changes accompanied by vascular disease.
